Brian is seeking re-election to the LSLL Board of Directors to ensure the continuity of operations and greater integrity of the league as a whole; Brian has been extremely involved in coaching and administration of youth sports since his baseball playing days at George Mason University came to an end. Brian has coached his elder twin sons (now High School Seniors) through Loudoun South, and has coached his youngest son in Loudoun South for the last four years. - Coach, American Legion Post 160 2000-2007

Brandon Vaughan |
Brandon currently has served as Loudoun South Little League's Secretary and Safety Officer for the 2024 Spring and Winter seasons. He has two sons (11 and 9) in the league and has committed the past year on the board to help bring forth transparency, efficiency and integrity to the organization. He will continue to drive this agenda for future terms as well as providing a safe environment for our youth. He has been extremely active in the local LSLL for the past 6 years serving as a regular season and All-Star coach for Teams from T-Ball through Majors. He currently is a Managing Director at Deloitte Consulting and graduated with an BBA in Computer Science from Georgia Southern University and an MBA in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. Brandon – “I want to bring organization and structure to the board as well as a sense of transparency across our community. Ultimately all of this is for the kids, they are the reason we do what we do, to see them grow into fine young adults is the ultimate goal.” |

Nick Umstead |
Nick is a husband, father, business owner, Marine, and lifelong baseball enthusiast with deep ties to our community. His experience includes playing youth baseball in Little League, continuing as an adult in the military, and participating in men's leagues for over 20 years. He has coached or assisted his son’s Little League teams from T-Ball through Minors and his Travel League team for the past four years. As a Loudoun South resident and active community member for over a decade, he is passionate about helping young athletes thrive both on and off the field and look forward to bringing his leadership and experience to the Board of Directors. Nick Polizzi |
Nick has been volunteering in the LSLL program for both his son and daughter since 2017 and has fostered great relationships with families and other volunteers within the league. Nick hopes of joining the recently formed softball rec program this year with his daughter and feels like he could could assist in making the softball program develop. |

Ashley Rushing |
Ashley would like to be considered again for reelection as the Community Affairs Director for LSLL. She has served in this newly formed position for the past year and was a newcomer to the board. Ashely was able to grasp, learn and implement the expectations of the position and has thoroughly enjoyed meeting the other board members and working in conjunction with the Fundraising Director to share new ideas and support the fundraising efforts. She truly enjoys giving back and being involved in organizations that support and give so much to the community. |

Walter "Walley" Okpych |
Walley currently serves on the LSLL Board of Directors, finishing up his first year on the Board as the Softball Operations Coordinator, which was also the first time LSLL held such a position after chartering softball in 2023. During his tenure, he oversaw successful Spring and Fall softball seasons. For the Spring season, LSLL had 80+ girls register, forming 3 Minors and 4 Majors teams and were able to form its first ever 9-11 Softball All-Stars team who represented LSLL in the Virginia State Tournament and won our first ever State tournament softball game for LSLL. During this time, Walley coordinated and oversaw 20+ clinics on pitching, catching and hitting with various partners in Loudoun County as we aim to increase the softball skills for our LSLL players, with our pitchers and catchers. Walley has created relationships across various Little Leagues in our region creating inter-league opportunities for our girls. Walley has been a softball head coach since 2021, coaching for LSLL Majors, LGLLS AAA and AA and most recently the head coach for the Loudoun Inferno 10U girls’ team. Walley - "I would love to continue building on the momentum built in our first year of softball within LSLL, bringing more girls into the league, creating additional All Stars teams and offering a Juniors program". |

Lindsay Coleman |
Lindsey currently serves on the board and has spend Spring and Fall of 2024 as the Concessions Manager. She is a baseball long-term baseball mom. Lindsey - "I loved supporting the players, families and the league by keeping the Byrnes Concession stand open as often as possible!" |

Luke Pirrello |
Luke has previously served the community as the D16 11U Tournament director in 2023 & 2024. He has served for the past 8 seasons as a coach within the current Loudoun South Little League and is currently part of the Calvary 9U Travel Organization as a staff member. Luke - "Focus on fundamentals and teach players to love the game and have fun. Luke - "No one is getting a scholarship in our little league. We need to build a community for young players to develop, grow and have fun. " |

Jonathan Kindberg |
Jonathan played baseball from youth leagues through the University of Hartford. He brings a deep understanding of the game, team dynamics, and player development. His experience as an Assistant Coach for US Elite baseball and LSLL has further honed his coaching skills, providing him with valuable insights into effective training techniques, strategic game management, and player motivation. He is dedicated to creating a supportive environment that encourages each athlete to reach their full potential. He is passionate about helping the board foster growth and success for all players, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to thrive both on and off the field. |

Steve Sphar |
This will be Steve’s 8th year associated with Loudoun South Little League. In addition to volunteering with his two boys' baseball teams, he also volunteers with his church. In past years, Steve has also served on the board of the largest adult softball leagues in the country. Steve – “I'd like to serve on the board because I am passionate about youth sports and want to see Loudoun South continue to be a positive experience for it's participants. “ |

Steve Guthrie |
As a parent of two LSLL players, and a coach and volunteer with multiple youth teams, Steve has seen firsthand the positive impact sports and LSLL has had on their growth as players and people, and he is eager to continue to help grow the sport and allow more kids in the local community to experience the benefits he’s seen with his boys and players. Steve regularly volunteered with LSLL in several roles over the past four years, from coaching to scorekeeping to team management, as well as coaching travel ball within the Senators organization since 2022. Steve – “I am confident I could help in a variety of roles. I would be honored to be considered for the 2025 LSLL Board of Directors, and look forward to both the challenge and the opportunity.” |

Christopher Turley |
Christopher Turley is the SVP, Director of Government Lending for BCT-The Community’s Bank, leading the Government Lending growth initiative through the Bank’s lending footprint. Christopher has a diverse banking background with 19 years of experience in the Financial Industry working for various corporate banking institutions throughout the Washington, DC, metropolitan region in their respective retail, risk management, and commercial lending divisions. Christopher graduated from James Madison University in 2006 with a BBA in Finance. He lives in Aldie, VA with his wife and three young children. Christopher is engaged in various leadership roles with a variety of business and community organizations. Specifically Christopher has participated as a head coach in Two Fall Season with LSLL as well as two spring seasons as head coach in AAA. Christopher has two sons playing in LSLL (League Age 9 and League Age 12 for the 20025 Season) and an aspiring daughter to join the ranks in about three years. |

As a dedicated member of our community and a passionate advocate for youth sports, Shant shows deep appreciation for the values of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. He is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive both on and off the field. Professionally, Shant serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for a large healthcare organization, bringing extensive experience in leadership and organizational management. His approach emphasizes clear communication, collaboration, and problem-solving—qualities I believe are essential in ensuring the success of our league.
In addition to his professional expertise, Shant is an active volunteer and have been involved in various community initiatives, including coaching youth teams and supporting charitable events. He believes strongly in using sports as a vehicle to teach life lessons and build character in young athletes. As a parent and a community member, Shant is deeply invested in the growth and success of our Little League program. Shant – “If elected, I will work diligently to ensure that our league remains a place where kids can learn, grow, and create lasting memories.” |

Brian along with his wife Megan have 3 boys all of whom are currently involved or will be involved in the Loudoun South Little League for the next 8 years. Brayden - 8, Landon - 6, Ashton – 4. In his professional career, Brian is a financial advisor for Kingsview Partners and have been in the profession for over 10 years. He has partnered with small businesses and families to achieve their financial goals. Brian currently serves on the Willowsford HOA Board of Directors where he has served as treasurer and currently serves as Vice President. He is currently involved in the Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center where he serves as a volunteer to assist individuals in recreation, socialization and therapy opportunities in a farm environment. |
