Middle School Baseball

The LSLL Middle School Baseball Program is designed for 6th–8th grade players to represent their respective middle schools. As an extension of the Little League International (LLI) Seniors Division, the program offers a more competitive environment than the Juniors Division (more development and recreation focused) and follows LLI Seniors Division rules, including no mandatory playing time requirements. Players benefit from competing alongside future high school teammates, easing their transition to larger fields and fostering team familiarity.

Program Structure

  • Participating schools: Lunsford, Gum Spring, Brambleton, Willard, Stone Hill, and Watson Mountain.
  • Teams are comprised, mainly of, eligible 8th grade players with the opportunity for developed 7th grade players to participate as well.
  • 6th graders may only participate via approved waiver; LSLL recommends Majors Division for most 6th graders.
  • Tryouts are mandatory, with team selections made by each school’s manager.
  • Private and home-schooled players may try out for the team aligned with their zoned middle school.
  • Middle School Baseball is more competitive and geared toward 8th graders preparing for JV-level play in high school. 7th graders may try out, but priority is given to 8th graders. Middle School follows Seniors rules, which do not guarantee play time.
  • Juniors Baseball is more recreational, with guaranteed play time under Little League Juniors rules.

Important Registration Note
If your player is even considering trying out for the Middle School team, please ONLY register for Middle School.  If you player is not selected, you will then be given the opportunity to play Juniors and pay at that time. If your player is selected for the Middle School team, payment will be accepted at that time.
