Umpire Resources

For Youth (Ages 12–17) and Adult Umpires

Welcome to the official umpire resource page for our league. This page is designed to help you feel prepared, confident, and supported every time you step on the field.

Our Mission as Little League Umpires

Little League umpires are teachers, leaders, and role models.

  • We help players learn the game the right way
  • We keep games fair, safe, and fun
  • We show respect, even when emotions run high
  • We model sportsmanship for players, coaches, and fans

You are not expected to be perfect. You are expected to be prepared, calm, and willing to learn.

Check out the Umpire Registry webpage (Umpires - Little League) where you can find some valuable resources and training, and don't forget to download the Little League Rulebook App free.

Protests – What You Need to Know

Youth umpires do NOT handle protests.
If a coach says the word “protest,” stop play and immediately contact the UIC or an adult umpire.

What CAN Be Protested

  • Misapplication of a rule
  • Eligibility issues (handled by league officials)

What CANNOT Be Protested

  • Judgment calls (balls/strikes, safe/out)
  • Umpire discretion

How a Protest Is Filed (Team Manager only)

  1. Coach must notify the plate umpire before the next pitch or play
  2. The situation is documented
  3. The UIC and league leadership are notified
  4. The game continues under protest if directed

Scheduling & Availability (Stack Officials)

We use Stack Officials for game scheduling and availability. All umpires — youth and adult — must have an active Stack Officials account.

Website: https://stackofficials.com

IMPORTANT PAY NOTICE

Adult umpires do NOT get paid. Adult umpires do NOT need to enter banking, tax, or payment information in Stack Officials.

Youth umpires ARE paid and must complete payment setup if they want to receive pay.

How to Activate Your Stack Officials Account

  1. Go to stackofficials.com
  2. Click Login
  3. Use the email address that was used to add you to the umpire roster
  4. Click “Forgot Password” and follow the instructions
  5. Once logged in, complete your profile

New umpires: If you receive a message saying you are not tied to a league, email the UIC with the umpire’s name and email address so you can be added.

Profile Setup (Youth vs Adult)

Youth Umpires

  • You may add a parent/guardian email as a secondary email
  • You must enter payment information if you want to be paid
  • Make sure your name and email are correct

Adult Umpires

  • You do NOT enter tax, banking, or direct deposit information
  • Adult umpires are volunteers
  • Only availability and contact information are required

Multiple Umpires in One Family

Each umpire must have a separate email address in Stack Officials.

If multiple umpires are under one email, only one will appear. Please email the UIC with the names and emails of the additional umpires so they can be added.

Using Stack Officials (Best Practices)

  • There is a mobile app, but the mobile web version works best for availability
  • Log in regularly — assignments move fast
  • Keep your information up to date

Setting Your Availability

  1. Log into Stack Officials
  2. Click the calendar icon (top right)
  3. Enter:
    • When you ARE available
    • When you are NOT available

Game days: Monday–Wednesday evenings and all day Saturday.

Please keep your availability updated at least two weeks out. If you want games, get your availability in early.

Game Assignments

  • You will receive an email when a game is assigned
  • You must accept or decline the assignment promptly
  • If you listed yourself as available, you are expected to accept
Reminder: If you decline assignments after marking yourself available, it makes scheduling harder for everyone.
